20+ On the Go Keto Breakfast Ideas That Are Super Easy in 2019 — Home Boss

Like you, I find it difficult to schedule in time to prepare breakfast before work.

It was a long while before I even had breakfast. I drank a huge thermos of coffee, and by ten in the morning, I was weak and hungry.

I so became wise and began concentrating on eating some form of protein for breakfast every morning, regardless of my appetite. This helped me stabilize my blood sugar so I didn’t feel jittery or dizzy in the morning and allowed me to quit overindulging at lunch.

A couple protein balls and a cheese stick make up my usual breakfast. This protein ball recipe is delicious, but it’s not keto-friendly.

It can be very difficult to find time to prepare breakfast for someone following the Keto diet. I’ve put together this list to make it easier for you to locate tasty, easy-to-make keto dishes that you can consume quickly on the move!

Breakfasts on the keto diet can be very complex. However, if you’re anything like me, you need keto breakfast ideas that are really quick.

Any given weekday morning, I’m usually rushing about the house, drinking coffee, and attempting to put shoes on.

That’s why I adore having a plethora of easy keto breakfast options at my disposal to ensure that I eat until I’m satisfied and go to work on time.

CAN I SKIP BREAKFAST ON KETO?

Ah, a hot topic since nutrition became a thing. Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day?

Opinions on this differ greatly, of course, but a really interesting and well-researched article from the Diet Doctor provides us with some important information.

Skipping breakfast can cross over into the lines of intermittent fasting, whether we know it or not. Healthline defines intermittent fasting here, saying:

“Common intermittent fasting methods involve daily 16-hour fasts or fasting for 24 hours, twice per week.”

With this definition, if we eat dinner around 6pm and then skip breakfast, it is possible we aren’t eating lunch until around 12 pm the next day. This gives us around 18 hours of fasting time!

We can easily slip into intermittent fasting without making it a conscious effort- if we are people who tend to skip breakfast entirely some days. There are benefits to practicing intermittent fasting, but it is incredibly important to do your research before you commit to fasting.

Here are some great resources if you are considering intermittent fasting:

ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS IN A KETO BREAKFAST

When you follow the ketogenic diet, there are a few essentials you should always have on hand. Breakfast preparation will be much simpler if you have some packaged and fresh products on hand.

  • Eggs: Because eggs are incredibly low in carbohydrates, readily available, and often quite adaptable, this is a very popular dish in the keto breakfast community. While many of the recipes below don’t include eggs, a handful do. I am aware that many keto dieters burn out on eggs far too early!
  • Avocados: There’s a good reason why avocados are frequently referred to be superfoods! They are a fantastic source of protein, have a very high content of healthy fat, and very few carbohydrates. On the ketogenic diet, it’s always a good idea to keep a few avocados on hand since they make it quite simple to come up with new keto breakfast ideas every day.
  • Keto Bread: There are mornings when all you want is a hearty, carb-filled breakfast. Since I know how much I enjoy bagels, I searched the internet for keto-friendly bagels that would satiate my need for bread without forcing me to break out of ketosis.
You are in luck because I have SO many amazing bread recipes that would be ideal for a quick keto breakfast.
  • Almond Flour: Almond flour is a fairly easy flour substitute that you would probably use if you are baking any bread or muffin recipes. With keto growing more and more popular, most grocery stores now provide replacement flours! I detest going to the grocery shop, so I like to get mine from Amazon!
  • Sweeteners that are keto-friendly: There are a ton of alternatives available. Several of my favorites, including Swerve (which comes in granular and powdered sugar varieties), are used in the recipes below. Stevia and monk fruit sweetener are other fantastic keto-approved sweeteners.
